You are on a journey. Part of you is likely saying you see dark stormy times ahead. Listen to it and prepare yourself. You are headed into a storm. But it shouldn't spell disaster for you. Plan your work and work your plan. Thousands have been in your shoes and come out the end the better for it. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. And its going to feel like you are being killed. But it is worth it. Do it. Don't delay.

Has there ever been a time when someone has been outed as a JW mole on this forum?
by Tenacious inhaving been a jw for decades i'm used to watching what i do, say, or watch, in fear of being snitched on.. therefore, i the question begs.. there have been instances, i won't say how, where i've felt some members are being deliberate in their attempt to feign support for the anti-jw rhetoric on this forum.. any input is greatly appreciated..

A better question would be, how many JW moles that have come across this place are still JWs? -

Scientology special on A&E tonight with Leah Remini
by nonjwspouse ini'm not sure where it is airing elsewhere, but on the a&e channel, at 7p then again at 10p est tonight, leah remini is doing a scientology special.
it looks to be a great show.
i am not sure if it is one time, or the beginnings of a series.

Saw the first installment tonight. Chilling. Substitute countless ExJW stories for each segment. I'm sure the same could be said for the LDS and so many other cults. I couldn't help but admire Leah for her courage and willingness to speak out and marvel in her unique ability and capacity to do so. I also felt this sense that nobody cares enough for it to really impact these cults. If its a slow melt and burn maybe, but I want it all NOW! lol. One thing mentioned was that Scientology is having a hard time recruiting Sea Org members, and goes through great lengths to retain what they have. Sounds just like WBTS in relation to straight publishers. Carla I thought the same, if this show finds any sort of success, Leah should expand on it and JWs should be at the top of the list. ;) I also wonder if any active JWs happen to watch this series, its highly probable at least a handful will have that "ah-ha" moment. Isn't it?

Voted last week. First time for my two daughters also. We had a good time researching the down ballot and different measures to vote on. Such a vastly different experience with them than I had their age. They were genuinely proud to be part of the process and have a say.

Rape Victim Forced To Listen To a Tape Of Her Assault In A JC
by pale.emperor inthis is absolutely outrageous.
a rape victim was forced to listen to herself being raped while the elders stopped and started the tape claiming she was consenting.
even though during one of the assaults she was duct-taped, gagged and had a pillowcase over her head.

Zalkin's firm was dealing with nearly an identical case to this several years ago. At the time he was litigating dozens of abuse cases against WBTS and claimed it was the most egregious case he had seen. Unfortunately, like so many cases, not much info makes it to the mainstream and its hard to know how the cases are settled.

JWs did not "outgrow" the property. All circuits that attended on rotation nearly every weekend only filled the place to 70% capacity. Once upon a time in its heyday it was full because circuits were not divided into A and B parts as they were when the property sold. It had a full cafeteria that served elaborate hot meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner on lengthy assembly days in the 70s. Also consession stands (4 or 5?)around the perimeter of the hall served all the regular food stuffs Watchtower was known for before that was all done away with. Overnight camping was also the norm in the upper parking lot in the 70s to early 80s. It was actually fun times for us kids.
Not many people know how the building was constructed. A massive mound of dirt was made and then reinforced concrete poured to create the dome. The dirt was removed and the hall finished. The atrium arch was done the same. As kids we would scale the dome and get in massive trouble.
The property manager(I won't disclose his name) lived in the apartments by the upper parking lot. He was made an offer for the property and forwarded to the Watchtower. They took the offer. The building was plowed and high end condos stand in its place.

Add in sexual repression for decades and it isn't surprising. "Mature sisters" get horny too.

Can a small child be taken out of state without the other parents permission?
by Crazyguy inparents are still together not divorced.
one parent a jw wants to take a small child around age 7 out of state for a few months but other parents wants the child to stay home.
if the child is taken out of state can the parent that doesn't want him to go do anything?

Sounds like the makings for divorce court.
If a legal separation or dissolution is filed, the courts would automatically prevent out of state travel for the minor without parental consent. Might be the best option if parent left behind is adamant about not losing parenting time.
Or there is always something like this to look into: http://positiveparenting.com/when-spouses-disagree-about-parenting-issues/

Either parent can take children on any trip they wish without the consent of the other parent as long as the parent intends to return. Parents have the right to know where their children are, however. Law enforcement and the courts consider refusal by one parent to tell the other parent where they are going and when they will come back, and contact information as evidence the parent is attempting to withhold the children from the other parent; that is illegal in most states ( parental withholding)
Even as married parents, one parent can file an "ex parte emergency Motion for Temporary Custody" to prevent the travel plans or have the child returned from out of state. "Ex parte" means you testify to the judge by yourself without waiting for a hearing that the other parent can attend. Tell the clerk and the judge that your motion is “ex parte” because of the emergency of the other parent taking your child. If the judge gives you an order of temporary custody, the police will try to find the other parent and serve him with a copy of the order. The other parent will have to comply or face contempt of court. You will then have to go to another hearing, later on. At the hearing, the court will decide what to do next about custody.

Trump or Contested Convention?
by Coded Logic infor those of us who are hillary and bernie fans, which is the better outcome - to have donald trump as the republican's nomination whose unpopular with most americans?
or are we better off watching the chaos of a contested convention and the party eventually putting up someone weak like john kasic or jeb bush?

"most" is probably less accurate than "majority"
